The TARIQUÎA project is not just a tourist destination. Through contributions from tourists, significant income is generated for the 23 farming communities in the area, as well as for the authorities managing the protected area.

The project also protect the river:It funds 4 park ranger positions to prevent intrusions from illegal activities.
The season only lasts two months, which helps maintain environmental stability and minimizes pressure on the water.
